Privacy Policy

Old School Note Pad — developed by DrivenAI · Effective date: 29 July 2026

The short version: Old School Note Pad does not collect, transmit, or have access to any of your data. Everything you write stays on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and the app cannot connect to the internet — the released version does not even request that permission.

1. Who we are

Old School Note Pad is developed by DrivenAI ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app, and also covers the drivenai.ai family of websites.

2. What data the app collects

None. Specifically:

3. Where your data lives

Everything you create — notebooks, pages, typed text, drawings, inserted photos, and app settings — is stored locally on your device only, using standard on-device app storage. It is not synced, backed up, or transmitted anywhere automatically.

4. Features that involve your choice to share data

The app includes optional features that let you decide to move your own data off your device. In every case, the destination is chosen by you through your device's own system dialogs, and we never receive a copy:

Note on backup files: .osnb backup files are plain, unencrypted JSON. Once exported, the contents are readable by anything that can open the file — treat a backup file with the same care you'd give the notes inside it, especially if you store or send it somewhere you don't fully control.

If you send a shared file or backup to a third-party service (for example, your own Google Drive, or email), that service's own privacy policy governs how it handles that file from that point on — we have no visibility into or control over that.

5. Camera and photo permissions

If you use the "Insert photo" feature, the app requests camera access (to take a new photo) or your device's photo/file picker (to choose an existing one) — only at the moment you use that feature. A photo you insert is copied into the app's private, on-device storage for display on your notebook page. It is never transmitted anywhere by the app.

6. Permissions summary

PermissionWhy
Storage (system file picker)User-initiated backup, restore, and PDF export
CameraOnly when you insert a photo from the camera
Photo / file accessOnly when you insert an existing image
INTERNETNot requested in the release build

7. Payments

Old School Note Pad will offer an optional, one-time premium unlock — this is not yet available. It will not be a subscription and will not renew or recur. When it ships, purchases will be processed entirely by your device's app store billing system (e.g. Google Play Billing); we will not receive or store your payment information.

8. Children's privacy

Old School Note Pad is a general-purpose note-taking app, not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone — regardless of age — because the app does not collect information from anyone at all.

9. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA and similar laws)

Regulations like the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) give you rights over personal data a company holds about you — to access, correct, delete, or export it. Because we never receive or store any of your notebook data or personal information on any server, there is nothing on our end to access, correct, delete, or export on your behalf: your data exists solely on your own device (and anywhere you personally choose to export or share it). You are always in complete control of it — delete any notebook or page directly in the app, or remove all app data at once by uninstalling it.

We describe our practices here rather than certifying a compliance status — "compliant" is a legal conclusion, and we'd rather you know exactly what we do and don't do.

10. Third-party services

The app is distributed through app stores (such as Google Play), which have their own data practices governed by their own privacy policies. If you use the premium upgrade once it's available, that transaction will be processed entirely by the store's billing system — we will not receive or store your payment information.

11. Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained on your device for as long as you keep the app installed and choose to keep it. Deleting a notebook or page inside the app removes it immediately from device storage. Uninstalling the app removes all remaining app data from your device.

12. The website

The drivenai.ai and notebook.drivenai.ai websites are static informational sites. They do not use analytics or advertising cookies. If you email us, we use your message and email address only to respond to you.

13. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and post the revised policy at this same address. Because the app doesn't collect contact information from you, we can't notify you directly — please check back periodically if you have concerns.

14. Contact us

Questions about this policy or the app's privacy practices can be sent to notebook.support@drivenai.ai.

This policy is accurate to the app's current, audited behavior and is provided for transparency. It is not a substitute for legal advice — we recommend a lawyer review this policy before it is treated as legally authoritative, particularly for any jurisdiction-specific requirements.
